Feladrin are a race of harsh, warlike and vicious elves. Most Feladrin have pale skin and jet black hair. They are cruel, sadistic raiders with much disdain for all other races, especially their kindred, the High Elves. This stems from a a bitter civil war, fought thousands of years ago, in which the Dark Elves home region of Naggrond was destroyed. When the Dark Elves were driven from the Elven homeland of Eriador following the cataclysmic civil war, they fled northwards on giant floating citadels of rock to the dark and forbidding lands known only as “the Land of Chill”. The name is an appropriate one, for the unwelcoming home of the Dark Elves is a harsh wilderness of frozen tundra and great forests of black pine trees. They dubbed their new home Drathamore. It had little of vaulue save the cold enduring velociraptor like creatures the Feladrin call “cold ones”. The dark elves were quick to capture and domesticate these beasts, who now serve as vicious mounts in their cavalry.

The Feladrin have one major source of income: marauding. Dark Elves raid all other lands. They take food and treasure, but the main purpose of their raids is to obtain slaves. Slaves play an important part in their society, performing all tasks that a Feladrin deign to be below him. Slaves also make up the bulk of the ritual sacrifices many Feladrin make to evil gods. Dark Elves do not value their slaves’ lives, and often kill one or two to show the other slaves their brutality. The Dark Elves take to sea in their Black Arks which are huge floating citadels of stone. Kept afloat by magic, the Black Arks travel far and wide to procure slaves. Each Black Ark is home to a small army of Dark Elf raiders and a small fleet of raiding vessels. These forces can be landed on the coast of an unsuspecting kingdom, perform a lightning raid, and be off before any of the local defense forces are able to react. In this way, countless millions of doomed souls have been taken back to Drathamore and a fate worse than death.
The Feladrin turned away from learning and the high arts long ago, having given over completely to the dark arts that draw from them the most primal emotions. They have adopted Claistria as their matron deity. Her ideals of revenge, rage, and lust permeate their society. Her vendetta against Colerian, patron god of the high elves, is also quite fitting. Many dark elves also worship other evil gods, Hexter and Bane being the most popular. In the past thousand years a Feladrin society is dark and brutal. Those that survive to adulthood are truly strong in mind and body. Weapons training is a necessary part of life just to defend ones self. Powerful families are constantly vying for power, leading murder and assassination to be quiet prevalent in higher society. Lower peoples do their best to survive and avoid gaining the attention of anyone that would see them dead. This leads many to join the ranks of the armies and raiders, as the murder of military personal requires an investigation and appropriate penalty by the Black Guard.

Standard Racial Traits

Ability Score Racial Traits: Dark Elves have remained athletic and have become seductive lustful creatures, but their form is frail as ever it was. They gain +2 Dexterity, +2 Charisma, and –2 Constitution.
Size: Dark Elves are Medium creatures.
Type: Elves are Humanoids with the elf subtype.
Base Speed: Elves have a base speed of 30 feet.
Languages: Elves begin play speaking Common, Elven, and Black Speech.

Defensive Racial traits

Life in the Land of Chill: Dark Elves dwell in the arctic wastelands of Naggroth and have developed natural resistance to the dangers of their homeland. Dark Elves with this racial trait gain elemental resistance 5 to cold and gain a +4 bonus on survival checks when they are in a cold climate.

Feat and Skill Racial Traits

Blood Lust: Dark elves use their hate and rage in combat. Just the hint of bloodshed wakens in them a strong desire to rush headlong into the battle. Dark Elves with this racial trait receive Run as a bonus feat and a +2 racial bonus on initiative checks.
Slaver Reputation: You gain a +2 trait bonus on Intimidate checks to influence common folk, but you suffer a -2 penalty on Bluff or Diplomacy checks to influence them.
Seductive Lifestyle: Dark Elves beauty and connection to their emotion gives off an attractiveness that is at once captivating but hard to quantify. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Diplomacy and Bluff checks made to influence those who would be attracted to you.

Offense Racial Traits

Eternal Grudge: Feladrin have held malice for the Eladrin in their hearts for many ages. Because of special training against these hated foes, Dark Elves with this racial trait receive a +2 bonus on attack and damage rolls against Eladrin.
Professional Slavers: The Feladrin have been raiding humanoid races for thosaunds of years and have become quite good at combat against a variety of foes. Feladrin with this trait may add a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls against humanoids of the dwarf, human, catfolk, and dragonborn subtype.
Weapon Familiarity: Dark Elves are proficient with all crossbows (including hand, double, and repeating crossbows), longswords, shortswords and glaives. In addition, treat any weapon with the word “elven” in its name as a martial weapon.

Senses Racial Traits

Low-Light Vision: Elves can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light.
